Red Lion Court is described as a landmark riverside development between London Bridge and Southwark Bridge that will deliver a new 250,000 sq ft office tower with a gross development value of £450m.

Mace Construct has already started enabling and piling works next to Borough Yards in Southwark. The main build construction phase is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of this year and practical completion is targeted for early 2029.

Stanhope acquired the project in September 2025 alongside alternative investment fund manager Cheyne Capital.

Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, the new building sits on a 1.24 acre site and will comprise two basement levels and 11 floors above ground, delivering 249,500 sq ft of flexible offices, along with 1,000 sq ft of café space. The occupier experience is central to the building’s design, with four terraces overlooking the River Thames, and amenity provision featuring a club room and wellness centre. Commuter facilities include 719 bike spaces and 54 showers.

Stanhope head of development Tony Wall said: “Over the past 30 years, Mace Construct has partnered with us on some London’s most iconic buildings – the team has a proven, through the cycle track record delivering high-profile projects and their innovative approach to this project again made them a natural choice to manage its construction. Red Lion Court is set to be another landmark development and awarding this contract shortly after acquiring the project last year allows us to work to a timetable that delivers this prime new office space at a time when the market will be amongst its most constrained in terms of supply.  With a world class project team now in place, we look forward to working with Mace and turning our vision into reality.”
