MENARD U.S.A. ENGINEER EARNS PRESTIGIOUS BOARD CERTIFICATION IN GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING

On Dec. 16, 2025, Menard U.S.A. proudly announced that John Myers, P.E., design manager for the Southern region, has achieved Board Certification in Geotechnical Engineering  from the Academy of Geo-Professionals, a subsidiary of Civil Engineering Certification Inc. and the American Society of Civil Engineers. This certification represents the highest post-license credential in the geotechnical engineering profession and is accredited by the Council of Engineering & Scientific Specialty Boards.

SWINERTON ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF CRO DON ADAIR; CHRIS CHANY NAMED SUCCESSOR

On Dec. 17, 2025, Swinerton announced Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Don Adair will retire on Jan. 9, 2026, after nearly four decades in the construction industry. The Swinerton Incorporated Board of Directors has elected Chris Chany as the next CRO of Swinerton and its subsidiaries, including Swinerton Builders. Adair and Chany have been working closely to ensure a seamless transition since Adair’s retirement was shared internally to employee-owners in June 2025.

GILBANE BUILDING PROMOTES RYAN SITNIK TO SENIOR DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT IN THE SOUTHEAST

On Dec. 22, 2025, Gilbane Building announced the promotion of Ryan Sitnik to senior director of business development for the Southeast. In this role, he will lead efforts to strengthen client relationships and business development strategy, delivering tailored solutions across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Richmond, Virginia.

OWEN-AMES-KIMBALL FLORIDA DIVISION ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP TRANSITION

On Jan. 5, 2026, Owen-Ames-Kimball Florida Division announced a leadership transition designed to position the company for long-term growth and success. Jim Hopper is named president of the Florida Division, while Matthew Zwack moves to senior director of client relations.

PROCON ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP PROMOTIONS AND EXECUTIVE RETIREMENTS

On Jan. 5, 2026, PROCON announced a series of leadership promotions and retirements effective Jan. 1 as part of a deliberate succession plan that reinforces the firm’s executive team and ensures continued leadership stability under Chief Executive Officer John Stebbins, the fourth generation of the Stebbins family to lead the firm.

James Grant P.E. has been promoted to chief operating officer, where he will oversee day-to-day operations across the company.

Michael Yeatman has been promoted to chief construction officer and will lead all construction operations, including project management, field operations, safety, purchasing and field support.

Erik Anderson, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP has been promoted to chief design and engineering officer, overseeing PROCON’s design division, including architecture, interior design, structural engineering, MEP engineering, construction administration and quality control.

HENSEL PHELPS NAMES NEW CEO

On Jan. 6, 2026, Hensel Phelps announced that Brad Jeanneret, formerly president and COO for the Greeley, Colorado-based contractor, has taken the helm as president and CEO, effective Jan. 1. Jeanneret succeeds Mike Choutka, who had served as CEO since 2019, per the announcement. Choutka will now transition into a new role as chairman of the board.

JOSH LOCKHART PROMOTED TO BIG-D COMPANIES VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

On Jan. 7, 2026, Big-D Companies announced the promotion of Josh Lockhart to vice president of human resources. Lockhart has been a key member of the company since joining as director of human resources in 2024, where he quickly became a trusted partner to leaders and associates across all offices. 

BURR & FORMAN WELCOMES MAX FEDER IN CHARLESTON

On Jan. 12, 2026, Burr & Forman LLP announced the addition of counsel Max Feder to its Charleston office, where he joins the firm’s Real Estate practice group.

W.E. O’NEIL APPOINTS MIKE KALINOWSKI AS NATIONAL DIRECTOR OF SAFETY

On Jan. 13, 2026, General contractor W.E. O’Neil Construction announced the appointment of Mike Kalinowski, CSP, ARM, CRIS to the newly created role of national director of safety, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to safety, operational excellence and alignment across its operating units.

DOUG ROGGENBAUM NAMED AMERISURE VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGIC GROWTH

On Jan, 14, 2026 Amerisure named Doug Roggenbaum vice president of strategic growth, a role that brings experience, partnership and strategy together to support thoughtful expansion across the insurance marketplace.

BREEDEN CONSTRUCTION CARTER MACKEY EARNS DBIA GOLD STANDARD CERTIFICATION

On Jan. 20, 2026, Carter Mackey of Breeden Construction earned the Design-Build Institute of America’s highest professional designation, becoming a nationally certified Designated Design-Build Professional. The certification is the industry’s only measurable standard for individual expertise in design-build project delivery and requires rigorous coursework, verified experience and passage of a comprehensive exam.

SHAWMUT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ANNOUNCES NEW GROWTH STRATEGY, LEADERSHIP

On Jan. 21, 2026, Shawmut Design and Construction announced a bold national growth strategy to reach $5 billion, adding new leadership roles and expanding into new geographies and sectors, including mission critical.

Kathleen Abbott has joined as the company’s first chief revenue officer, tasked with driving strategic growth across regions, sectors, and services.

Shawmut has also hired Joel Nickel as its head of mission critical, a pivotal role to shape Shawmut’s entrance into this sector, notably data centers.

REGGIE TORBOR NAMED CEO OF PYLON BUILDING GROUP

On Jan. 22, 2026, Pylon Building Group entered the next phase of its growth as Reggie Torbor becomes CEO and president. Torbor has been with Pylon from its January 2023 launch, previously serving solely as president.

SKANSKA ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP PROMOTIONS IN MID-ATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST CIVIL OPERATIONS

On Jan. 26, 2026, Skanska announced the promotion of four senior leaders to vice president of operations in Skanska U.S.A. Civil’s Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions.

Joseph Hockersmith was promoted to vice president of operations, currently delivering projects in the Mid-Atlantic. In his new role, Hockersmith will oversee the delivery of major infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, high-quality and efficient project execution.

Brent Hunt was promoted to vice president of operations, currently delivering projects in the Mid-Atlantic. In his new role, Hunt will oversee operational teams driving quality, safety and strategic growth initiatives.

J.J. Moegling was promoted to vice president of operations. In his new role, Moegling will oversee operations in the Southeast, drive excellence in project delivery and support strategic growth initiatives.

Stephen R. Skippen was promoted to vice president of operations. In his new role, Skippen will lead operations and client relationships in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast across major infrastructure projects while driving strategic pursuits for the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic civil business units.

GILBANE WELCOMES BRETT MITCHELL AS SENIOR DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, WESTERN DIVISION

On Jan. 27, 2026, Gilbane Building announced the appointment of Dr. Brett Mitchell Ed.D, M.Ed, CBO, DBIA, as senior director, business development. In this role, Dr. Mitchell will spearhead strategic growth initiatives, strengthen client relationships and expand Gilbane’s presence across the West Division.
