National Highways said: “The next stage is to attach the new joints to the structure, pouring concrete, reinstate the barrier and relay the road surface.
“We’ll continue to work 24/7, including weekends, to complete our maintenance as quickly as possible and minimise disruption.”
It expects the work to be completed as planned in August.
A contraflow remains in place, with one lane open in each direction on the eastbound carriageway.
