Key innovations with the QuantumConnect platform

QuantumConnect represents an evolution in tiltrotator control technology, combining breakthrough innovations with a modular system architecture. State-of-the-art components are at the core of the platform, simplifying installation, operation, and support. The new A9 joysticks improve ergonomics and functionality.

Operators can choose between two or three rollers, benefit from a 5-way mini joystick switch, and enjoy comfort-enhancing features such as heated handles. Safety and productivity are further enhanced through haptic feedback that delivers instant tactile signals from the system.

The modular system design makes QuantumConnect integration with any excavator brand or model easy. Purpose-built modules such as the QIO modules convert controller area network (CAN) data to analog and digital signals, enabling smooth integration with machine functions and external systems. The Tiltrotator control module, integrated directly into the tiltrotator, ensures precise control of valves and sensors. The AUX module offers flexibility to manage additional hydraulic functions such as blades, outriggers, or offset booms. If not directly integrated into the excavator human-machine interface (HMI), an optional compact in-cab touch display gives operators a clear overview of system status and notifications.

Connectivity is embedded at the very core of the QuantumConnect platform. The new Connectivity Gateway module ensures wireless communication with sensors and components, while also managing 4G connections for cloud backup, over-the-air software updates, and remote diagnostics. The result is a system that is more powerful and versatile, and also future-proofed for next-generation tiltrotator hydraulics and MiC 4.0 integration, as well as seamless compatibility with leading Machine Control Systems suppliers.

Easy installation with InstallMate

The QuantumConnect platform has been designed from the ground up to make tiltrotator installation faster, more predictable and easier to support in the field. The combination of modular components, compact design, and machine-specific wire harnesses eliminates the need for extensive customization during the installation.

Central to the installation process is the new InstallMate app, which guides technicians, step-by-step, in multiple languages. Predefined templates for each excavator brand and model ensure that system configuration is straightforward. Cloud-based storage allows machine settings to be securely saved, cloned, and restored across multiple excavators. InstallMate enables installation support in local languages, helping technicians deliver a consistent experience. Because installation guides are constantly updated through feedback from worldwide use, the system becomes easier and more efficient to deploy over time.

Designed for the operator with connectivity for the highest uptime

The QuantumConnect platform has been engineered with a clear focus on the operator. Every element, from joystick ergonomics to system integration, has been developed to make the excavator easier to control, more efficient and safer to operate. Proportional control of all tiltrotator functions is standard, with auto-calibration of hydraulic valves ensuring smooth and precise movement while optimizing fuel efficiency. Operators can create individual profiles and adapt the system to specific work tools, while the ToolRec function wirelessly detects which attachment is connected and automatically adjusts tiltrotator settings.

Safety is another central feature. LockSense, Steelwrist’s next-generation sensor-based work tool locking system, is fully integrated into QuantumConnect, providing clear and reliable confirmation of safe locking on both machine and tiltrotator couplers. Optional track and wheel steering allows operators to control the excavator without releasing the joysticks, saving valuable time and improving ergonomics during continuous work.

Beyond ergonomics and safety, connectivity ensures that QuantumConnect always delivers peak performance. The QuantumConnect app for iOS and Android allows operators and service teams to connect wirelessly with the control system, eliminating the need for cables or adapters. With cloud-based backup, machine settings are never lost, and over-the-air updates ensure that the latest improvements are always available. Remote support can be accessed instantly, minimizing downtime and keeping machines working productively. Integration with OptiLube, Steelwrist’s automated lubrication system, ensures continuous monitoring of lubrication performance, providing alerts when it is time to replace the lubricant cartridge, eliminating guesswork and manual maintenance.

Availability

QuantumConnect will be gradually introduced across global markets during 2025, beginning with selected Steelwrist tiltrotator models and expanding through the company’s worldwide dealer network. The platform is fully supported by both the QuantumConnect app and the InstallMate app, available for iOS and Android.
