C.W. Driver Companies has begun construction on the $20-million James Ramos Center for Public Safety at the San Bernardino County Unified School District in Southern California. The 1,592-m² (17,140-sf) facility will enhance student safety and cadet training.

Key features of the facility will include a modern dispatch center, interview and briefing rooms, evidence storage, and a dedicated space for cadet training and wellness. A clerestory lobby, conference room, gymnasium, and secure parking lot with upgraded landscaping and hardscaping are also part of the project scope.

Constructed using Type II-B masonry and metal stud framing for maximum durability, the new building is strategically located adjacent to the City of San Bernardino Police Department, enabling enhanced collaboration between city and district safety teams.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 7, 2025, with completion of the project expected in summer 2026.
