Pune : PMC starts bearing & joint work of ‘these’ bridges in city


Pavan Mapari further said “The work order of 11 bridges is done. So, mainly the works of bearing, expansion joints & strengthening of these 11 bridges will be done. For doing repairing & strengthening work of all 38 bridges, expenditure of Rs 34 to 35 crores is needed. For this year, we had allocation of Rs 15 crores for this work. Hence, we have prioritized the bridges fitting in the Rs 15 crore allocation as per their conditions & urgency for repairing & accordingly the work of the 11 bridges is going on. As per the allocation next year, the tender, work order & work of the remaining bridges will be done in phases.”

Work of these 11 bridges going on

In the first phase, the bearing and expansion joints of 11 bridges in the city will be repaired and other repairs will be done. These bridges include Vi. Bha. Patil Bridge in Bopodi, Mhatre Bridge, Rajaram Bridge, Veer Savarkar Flyover, S.M. Joshi Bridge, Maharshi Vitthal Ramji Shinde Bridge, Rajiv Gandhi Bridge, Katraj-Kondhwa Flyover, New Sangam Bridge, Wellesley Bridge and Aga Khan Bridge.
