Operator-focused design

The 1230 continues K-Tec’s focus on creating scrapers that are smooth to operate, simple to maintain, and built for long service life. The scraper’s push-block system has been upgraded to a bolt-on design, making it easier to service or replace after extended wear. Operators can also equip an optional push-roller, providing a smoother interface when working with a dozer or K-Tec Ox Block during push-loading operations.

Another major enhancement is the move from ejector rollers on the previous 1228 to low-maintenance slide blocks on the 1230. This refined design delivers more consistent ejection performance across varying materials while simplifying maintenance and lowering long-term operating costs.

Additionally, larger pins and bushings at the gate and trailing arm pivot points extend wear life and improve control precision under load — helping operators maintain smoother, more consistent cycles throughout the day.

Maintenance has been further streamlined with centralized easy-access grease points and improved hose routing, while positionable offset 23.5 R25 radial tires reduce material build up and improve ride quality and ground contact on varied terrain. The result is a scraper that feels responsive, durable, and engineered for reliable earthmoving production.

Built for the bottom line

On paper, the K-Tec 1230 offers a modest two-yard increase in heaped capacity (7 percent) over the well-proven 1228 — but the real story is what happens in the field. Heavy civil contractor testing and side-by-side studies show that the 1230 delivers up to 16 percent greater productivity with its refined bowl geometry, faster loading characteristics, and reduced rolling resistance.
