JCB has won a coveted Tractor of the Year (TOTY) award for its all-new high-power Fastrac 6300 for the tractor’s combination of industry-leading features, abilities and performance.
The prestigious award, presented on Sunday, November 9, at Agritechnica, the world’s largest agricultural machinery and technology show, was secured in the Sustainable category, marking a second win for JCB; in 2023, the Fastrac 4220 iCON won the same award.
JCB’s Fastrac 600 Series
JCB’s newly launched Fastrac 6000 Series provides farmers and contractors with a feature-laden, highly productive tractor suited to a multitude of field and transport tasks. It stays true to JCB’s innovative concept that defines all Fastracs, while introducing new features such as the central tire inflation management system, which enables operators to quickly set optimum pressures for road travel and to minimize soil compaction in the field.
As with all Fastracs, the unique all-round suspension — when conventional tractors have a rigid rear axle — provides unmatched levels of operator comfort, while the iCON digital control interface makes it easy to configure tractors and implement systems. Both systems help make an operator’s day working on a Fastrac more productive and less tiring.
The double-acting suspension front and rear is also key to the Fastrac’s traction in the field for heavy draft work, such as plowing and cultivating, and to its legal high speed — 41 mph — when driving on the road.
JCB’s Smart Transmission Control system also contributes to the Fastrac 6300’s sustainability credentials by managing the powertrain — the engine and transmission — in a way that ensures optimum performance with the least fuel consumption.
JCB Deputy Chairman George Bamford said: “Many congratulations to the JCB team involved in developing the new Fastrac 6300; it really is a masterpiece of engineering that underscores JCB’s passion for innovation and for developing productive, efficient machinery.”
The new 335 hp Fastrac 6300 was described by the international judging panel as “redefining the balance between performance, efficiency and sustainability.” The jury of machinery specialists with practical farming experience recognized the Fastrac 6300 as “an example of sustainable innovation that combines intelligent engineering, digital connectivity, and care for the soil to deliver productivity with responsibility.”
