I-79 North closed in Braxton County due to ‘expansion joint’ issue


BURNSVILLE, W.Va (WDTV) – Interstate 79 Northbound is closed in Braxton County due to an issue with the bridge, according to West Virginia 511.

The road is shutdown at the Burnsville exit, and traffic is being detoured off the exit and back on to I-79.

As of 9:45 a.m., traffic is not backed up due to the closure.

WV511’s website says the closure is due to an “expansion joint.”
