Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) has begun work on an expansion of the City of Round Rock Public Safety Facility to support the fire and police departments in Round Rock, Tex.
The construction of the Round Rock Public Safety Training Center will include expanding the main administration building, a new stand-alone classroom building, police and fire equipment storage, an emergency vehicle operations course, a heavy-duty skills pad, an observation tower, and a backup emergency generator.
The 613-m2 (6,602-sf) main building expansion will add more than 557 m2 (6,000 sf) of meeting room space and additional room for fire training personnel.
A new 437-m2 (4,700-sf) classroom building will include two classrooms, restrooms, storage, and a kitchenette. An additional skills pad will provide a dedicated space for the fire department to conduct extrication exercises.
The building’s original architect, Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects, designed the project expansion. The project is slated for completion in early 2027.
