Epiroc releases its next-gen surface drill rig

Epiroc‘s new-generation PowerROC T25 surface drill rig features several major improvements to benefit quarry and aggregate production.

The recently released PowerROC T45 surface drill rig increased fuel efficiency by up to 40 percent compared to previous models. Since then, Epiroc has continued to deliver advancements in operation and serviceability.

Technology upgrades on the latest surface drill rig

The new-generation PowerROC T25 is equipped with the latest PowerROC control system, delivering optimal fuel efficiency and simplified operation. This advanced system automatically adjusts engine speed to the most efficient level, ensuring that power output consistently matches real-time drilling demands.

All data is displayed on the 12-inch screen, making operation and data analysis more aligned with other PowerROC models, such as the PowerROC T35 MKII and PowerROC T45 MKII.

The control system is a key part of the new cabin, representing a significant leap forward in operator experience. The upgraded cabin provides improved visibility, notably enhanced comfort and ergonomics, and reduced noise and vibration levels, creating a safer and more productive working environment.

The PowerROC T25 MKII is also equipped with a new Volvo diesel engine. It delivers 129 kW (173 hp) and is available in both Tier 3 and Tier 4 Final/ Stage V versions. This dependable engine provides the power needed for construction and civil engineering projects, as well as small aggregate and limestone quarrying operations.

The PowerROC T25 is available in both long-feed and short-feed versions to handle different drilling depths in a single pass.

“The new PowerROC T25 delivers enhanced performance along with superior efficiency. We are very excited to add this upgraded drill rig to the PowerROC family”, says Sivakumar Devarajan, senior manager,  Marketing at Epiroc Surface division.

“The modular design of the new PowerROC T25 further simplifies maintenance and streamlines spare parts inventory. At Epiroc, we are committed to continuously accelerating the transformation – and this new rig is an important step in that direction”, says Devarajan.

The upgraded PowerROC T25 is available for orders from April 1, 2026.
