For the week of October 16, 2016:
The team will be removing the overhead protection on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (10/15 – 10/17), so the sidewalk will be closed from 6:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day. BUPD will be directing pedestrians around Hinsdale, Cummington, and Blandford. The site fence will be moved a couple of feet north toward Commonwealth Avenue and will be extended east to west toward the front of Morse Auditorium and toward Hinsdale Mall.
Rainscreen installation will continue on mast climber 5 and from the 3rd floor down. Ipswich Bay Glass will continue working 2 shifts next week on this mast climber, with first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 pm and second shift from 3:00 to 11:00 p.m. Glazing the white frames (TGP) will continue on the 1st floor and at the connector. Underground utilities will continue on the College of Communication side, and sidewalk removal on the Commonwealth Avenue side within the fence area will begin. The College of Communication ramp will be poured. Miscellaneous roof detailing will take place on the high roof. Expansion joint work on the 2nd floor roof abutting 3 Cummington and the connector bridge will continue.
Miscellaneous wall framing will continue on the 1st floor. In-wall and above-ceiling electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and sprinkler rough will continue on the 1st floor. Drywall installation will continue on 1st floor, and FMRI shielding installation and EEG room shielding will begin. East stair boarding will continue. Ceiling grid installation will continue on the 8th floor. Casework will continue on the 4th floor. Flooring will continue on the 5th floor and floor tile installation continue in the 4th floor bathrooms. Fire shutter door installation on floors 4 through 9 will continue. Start-up of mechanical equipment with permanent power will occur.
Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
