To celebrate and thank their supporters, the Commissioners of the Cupertino Library wanted to install a donor wall in the Library’s courtyard.

Esherick Homsey Dodge and Davis (EHDD) won the proposed design bid. The design concept’s goal was to bring the feeling of nature, color, and verticality of the surrounding Redwood grove back into the courtyard.

Cullen and 3form created a donor wall and an art feature wall that can be seen from every angle in the courtyard and inside the library.

Eilish Cullen as their lead designer, created a design that emphasized color, translucency, and illumination with 3form in mind.

Together, Cullen and 3form created a donor wall and an art feature wall that can be seen from every angle in the courtyard and inside the library.

The donor wall was intended to create an informative piece of art that shows the library’s appreciation for all donations and support received. The design concept evolved many times, each time testing material, color, and formation.

Cullen worked with 3form’s custom department to test and retest the spacing between panels to achieve proper illumination.

This project’s timespan was about a year from development to installation, and continues to catch the attention of library goers at every angle of the library, indoors and outdoors.
