South lanes of Kennedy Bridge to close overnight Friday


Southbound lanes of I-65 on the Kennedy Bridge will be closed for repair work overnight on Friday.The closure will go into effect at 8 p.m. Friday and remain in place until Saturday at 10 a.m.All lanes of I-65 South will be closed past Exit 1 to U.S. 31 South/Stansifer Avenue/10th Street in Jeffersonville Indiana.Officials recommend drivers detour by taking I-265 West to I-64 East and reconnecting with I-65 South.Crews will be working to repair steel underneath the roadway. This is part of a bridge expansion joint replacement project.KYTC said the I-65 South to I-64 West ramp closure, which started in November, will remain in place through January.There is one more overnight closure anticipated as part of this project. KYTC will announce those closures once the traffic shift is confirmed.
