CRA celebrates Canadian Rental Week

The Canadian Rental Association (CRA) puts its name behind the second annual Canadian Rental Week, taking place October 15 to 18. The national initiative recognizes the essential role that the rental industry plays in Canada’s economy and in communities across the country with the message “Rentals Make Big Things Happen.”

Canadian Rental Week draws attention to the scale and diversity of the industry. Rental equipment supports everything from infrastructure projects and construction sites to community festivals and family celebrations. With more than 10,000 items available to rent from CRA members, the industry provides the equipment and the expertise that Canadians rely on every day.

The Canadian rental industry generates more than $8.5 billion in annual revenue and supports thousands of jobs across the country. With more than 425 companies operating through more than 1000 locations, and backed by over 175 partners, CRA members keep construction projects on track, enable community events, and reduce costs for businesses of all sizes. From scissor lifts on building sites to stemware at weddings, rentals make work and play possible in every region of Canada.

A highlight of this year’s campaign is the Hidden Pictures Challenge, a new interactive feature that invites Canadians to look closely at how much of their daily environment depends on rentals. The illustration includes excavators, tents, generators and other equipment, and the challenge continues beyond the page. Walking through a neighbourhood or driving across a city, Canadians are encouraged to ask themselves, “What here is rentable?” The answer reveals how deeply the industry is connected to both the national economy and local community life.

“Canadian Rental Week is about shining a light on the members and partners who play a vital role in every Canadian community,” said Melanie Misener, executive director of the Canadian Rental Association. “The Hidden Pictures Challenge gives people a chance to see the industry’s impact in a new way and to recognize the big things that rentals make possible.”
