Wacker Chemical Corp. (WCC) recently celebrated a major milestone at the company’s Calvert City, Kentucky, production site, home to two of the longest-serving employees in the company’s global network. Kevin Diamond and James Eaves have dedicated a combined 112 years to WCC, demonstrating commitment, expertise, and loyalty in the polymer binders industry.
Diamond and Eaves joined the company in 1965 and 1973, respectively. Over the decades, they have played vital roles in the growth of the Calvert City facility, which serves key markets including construction, paints and coatings, adhesives, and technical textiles.
“Having one employee with this level of tenure is rare,” said DJ Lutz, site director for WCC in Calvert City. “Having two, both here at this site, is extraordinary. Kevin and James represent the pride and dedication that define Wacker.”
Over the years, both employees have witnessed and helped lead the site through change and progress, including pivotal transitions such as Wacker’s acquisition of Air Products’ polymers business and the construction of a new dispersion reactor that secured raw material supply for VINNAPAS® dispersions. Their efforts have supported Wacker’s leadership in safety excellence and years of accident-free operation.
Their deep institutional knowledge and leadership have made them mentors to generations of employees. Reflecting on their careers, Diamond said, “It’s been an honor to grow with this company. The people here are like family.” Eaves added, “I’ve always been proud to be part of this team and make a difference every day.”
