Genie is expanding its optional Lift Guard accessories to help boom lift and scissor lift users work more safely and efficiently. Lift Guard Lanyard Alert encourages boom lift operators to comply with fall protection requirements, while Lift Guard Zone Lighting enhances operator and nearby worker awareness by creating a visible perimeter around GS scissor lifts.

Lift Guard Lanyard Alert
Promoting fall protection compliance
Available in two configurations, Lift Guard Lanyard Alert and Lanyard Alert Advanced provide visual and audible reminders when the fall system lanyard is not attached to the anchor point inside the platform. The Advanced system will also disable machine operation until the lanyard is engaged. Both systems are compatible with most carabiner clips and can be factory-installed or retrofitted on all Genie boom lifts manufactured since 2003. Installation takes less than 15 minutes, requires no calibration, and the IP67-rated enclosure ensures durability in harsh conditions. The modular design also keeps maintenance costs low.
Lanyard Alert systems comply with ANSI, CSA, CE, UKCA, and AS standards.

Lift Guard Zone Lighting
Increasing perimeter awareness on scissor lifts
Lift Guard Zone Lighting uses red laser lights to create a ground-level visual boundary approximately 2 feet (61 centimetres) from the edge of GS scissor lifts. The narrow, bright beam (approximately 0.6 inches or 15 milimetres thick) is visible in all indoor lighting conditions and uses a glass lens to prevent fading over time. The system helps operators understand perimeter clearance and signals nearby workers if they enter the lift’s work zone. Brackets protect both lights and harness routing from falling objects. Zone Lighting kits are compatible with all slab scissor lift models and are simple to install.
Availability begins in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in Q4 2025, with North America and other regions following in early 2026.
“Genie is actively improving and expanding available options and accessories across our boom lift and scissor lift product lines,” said Dominik Damm, Director of Product Management, Booms Portfolio. “Our goal is to help end users work more productively while providing rental companies with tools to maximize fleet utilization.”
