
Alberici has named Brad Nystrom executive vice president, leading operations for the firm’s heavy industrial, civil and marine markets. Nystrom has more than 25 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure delivery in the civil, marine and industrial sectors. He joins Alberici from OHLA, a global civil and transportation contractor, where he was chief operating officer.
The HFW Cos., St. Louis, has hired Steve Summers for the newly created role of vice president of project excellence and delivery. He will lead development of a project management system that includes standardized project controls, project delivery processes, quality assurance, professional development for project managers and an elevated client experience.
McCarthy Building Cos. has expanded its Kansas City, Kan., executive leadership team with three promotions. Joe Lewandowski has been named vice president and business unit lead, overseeing the office’s strategic direction. Jeff Bennett steps into the role of director of business development, and Brad Schoen becomes vice president of preconstruction. The trio will guide growth across health care, education, science, technology, industrial and infrastructure markets. In addition, McCarthy appointed Vladimir Monroe as director of workforce and community engagement for the firm’s 29-state Central region.
St. Louis-based Western Specialty Contractors has hired Daniele Portal as regional business development manager to assist personnel in Atlanta, Charlotte, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, and other areas—to achieve annual sales objectives. Portal has been in the business development/marketing field for nearly 10 years, previously working as business development manager at CertaPro Painters in Kannapolis, N.C.
RS&H has promoted Nick Puroll to area leader for southeast Michigan in its construction management division. He was owner’s representative to the Michigan Dept. of Transportation for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.
Arcitecture firm The Lawrence Group has hired Kennady Crutchley as interior design professional, Catherine Matthew as design professional and Samantha Olendorff as permitting specialist, all based in St. Louis. Olendorff has 15 years of experience managing and consulting on commercial construction projects in design and permitting stages. Matthew is a former project/architectural designer at Oculus Inc.
SJS VDC Inc., Battle Creek, Mich., has promoted Jason Rector to senior vice president. Starting as an electrician in 1995, he contributed to the firm’s work on the post-9/11 Pentagon rebuild in 2002 and transitioned to building information modeling in rising into leadership. Rector now focuses on integrating teams.
