GAF Launches Specialty Products Unit to Streamline Supply Chain

GAF, North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, has launched a new business unit—Specialty Products and Services—bringing together SGI, Standard Logistics, and Glass Mat operations under one umbrella. The move is designed to strengthen supply chain alignment, create new growth opportunities, and deliver a streamlined customer experience.

Justin Dunlap, who previously served as the president of SGI, has been appointed president of the Specialty Products and Services business. SGI also announced today that Abdallah Simaika will succeed him as president of SGI.

Specialty Products and Services will include SGI, Standard Logistics, and Glass Mat operations, which will all continue to operate autonomously, while collectively benefiting from stronger vertical alignment, the potential for new growth opportunities and the ability to deliver a one-stop-shop customer experience.

“Our new Specialty Products and Services division will enhance customer value and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain, and we are confident that Justin’s decades of experience make him the ideal leader for the business,” said John Barkhouse, president and incoming CEO of GAF. “Abdallah has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to customers, and we believe SGI is well-positioned for its next phase of growth under his leadership.”

Over his 26-year tenure at SGI, Dunlap has led the transformation of the organization’s business model from focusing solely on roofing solutions to becoming a multifaceted company that manufactures roofing, building materials, and agricultural products.

Since 2017, Simaika has served in a number of leadership roles across Standard Industries, the parent company of GAF and SGI, including most recently as a member of the executive leadership team at GAF. Previously, he spent more than a decade in senior mergers and acquisitions and business development roles across the finance, healthcare, and legal industries.
