SPRI to Canvass IA-1- Standard Field Test Procedure

SPRI, the association representing sheet membrane and component suppliers to the commercial roofing industry, announced that it is revising ANSI/SPRI IA-1 and plans to canvass the document for re-approval as an American National Standard.

ANSI/SPRI IA-1 standard specifies a field test procedure to verify the suitability of an existing roof substrate or roof assembly, and adhesive combination.

The results generated from ANSI/SPRI IA-1 Standard provides the roof system manufacturer, design professional, and other interested parties with information necessary to determine if a substrate is compatible with the proposed adhesive. This testing procedure encompasses various types of insulation adhesives and substrates.

This standard was originally developed in 2010 and recanvassed most recently, in 2021.

Those wishing to participate in the canvassing process should contact SPRI at info@spri.org.
