An exit ramp coming off the Kennedy Bridge into Louisville will be closed for the next month so crews can make repairs. Starting Tuesday, the Interstate 65 South to Interstate 64 West ramp will be temporarily closed. Officials say this is part of the expansion joint replacement project on the Kennedy Memorial Bridge.See the closure below:The closure will go into effect at 9 a.m. Tuesday and remain in place through Monday, Dec. 15.”The ramp closure is necessary as crews continue work on the southernmost expansion joint on the right side of the bridge and to prepare for the next phase of construction,” KYTC said in a statement.Here is the recommended detour for drivers: Continue on I-65 South to I-264 West and reconnect with I-64.Officials say access to I-64 East and I-71 will remain open throughout the ramp closure.Once the project is complete, crews will transition to the next phase of the expansion joint project in the left three lanes of the Kennedy Bridge. Those lanes will be closed as expansion joints on the bridge are replaced. Details about this traffic impact will be released at a later date.
